PC Case Vinga Legend
When building a new system, people often save on the case, as not everyone needs flagship models costing several hundred US dollars, where a significant part of the cost is a premium for the brand name and the work of designers along with marketers. Especially if it's about a budget PC. However, it's also not advisable to buy no-name models, where the structural rigidity resembles a house of cards. In such a situation, time-tested brands that specialize in producing affordable and quality solutions come to the rescue. Today, we will introduce you to one of them.

The Vinga Legend case is not the most affordable device in the manufacturer's range, as it has some nice features like a glass side panel. However, it won't hit the budget hard - its retail price is about $32 (909 UAH). Currently, as part of a holiday promotion, it can be purchased for 100 UAH less. Let's take a look at what features the manufacturer offers in this price segment.

Packaging and Completeness

Vinga Legend is sealed in a standard cardboard box with simple design. On its edges, you can find a schematic image of the case, its name, and specifications in English and Ukrainian. There are cutouts on the sides for easy transportation.

The package includes only a set of screws for mounting the motherboard, power supply, and drives.
Appearance

In the best traditions of the manufacturer, the quality and affordable Vinga Legend case is made without any special frills, so as not to increase the final cost for the consumer. It has a simple rectangular chassis shape, which looks great in any situation, especially considering the classic black design. Perhaps the only interesting element is the glass side panel.

The external ports are located on the top panel. Here you will find two USB 2.0, one USB 3.0, and a pair of 3.5-mm audio jacks for a microphone and headphones. Next to them are the power, reset, and LED buttons. All buttons have a fairly deep travel with a click at the end. The large Power button has a nice circular knurling, while the Reset and LED buttons are small and executed in a simple, minimalist manner. In the basic configuration, pressing the LED button does nothing, as there are no LED elements initially in the case. But if in the future you want to get a set of fans with lighting, this button can be used.

We also note a pair of light indicators, which are the only glowing elements of the case. Special thanks to Vinga for not making them too bright - they won't light up your entire apartment at night.

Another important element of the top panel is the perforation, covered by a dust filter on a magnetic mount. Under it, you can secure a pair of 120-mm fans or a liquid cooling radiator sized 240 or 280 mm. For better compatibility of liquid coolers with motherboards, the mounting holes for the liquid cooler are located closer to the right edge of the top panel. This allows the cooler not to rest against the radiators on the board with a height of less than 30 mm.

The front panel is made of plastic with a large number of perforations and slots. Unfortunately, there is no dust filter behind it. It is fixed with plastic clips and can be removed without much effort.

Behind it are the mounting locations for two 120 or 140 mm fans. Instead of them, you can secure a radiator for a liquid cooler up to 300 mm in size. Moreover, the fans can even be placed behind the plastic part of the front panel, there is enough space.

The rear part of the case features seven horizontal expansion slots: one with a reusable cover and six with single-use covers. There is a common clamping plate, which is fixed with one screw. Next to it is a cutout for the motherboard's interface panel and a mounting spot for a 120mm fan with adjustable height.

At the bottom of the case is the mounting for the drive cage and a ventilation hole for cold air access to the PSU, covered by a dust filter (130x90 mm). It is easy to remove, blow out, and wash.

There are also two pairs of plastic feet, 16 mm high, with rubber pads. They provide good stability on various types of surfaces and sufficient airflow for the power supply.

The left side is a slightly tinted glass panel (370 x 435 mm) with a thickness of 3.86 mm. It allows you to admire the internal components. It is held in place by four knurled head screws.

On the opposite side is a metal panel with a thickness of 0.80 mm. It is secured in the standard way with two knurled screws and has a small protrusion for easier removal.

Regarding the practicality of the materials used, fingerprints are almost invisible on the matte paint, while the glass is more prone to smudges and requires appropriate care.
Internal Structure

The Vinga Legend case uses a layout with a bottom-mounted power supply. It, along with the drive cage, is separated from the main space by a metal shroud. The motherboard compartment is located at the top. The front part lacks any stands, allowing for the installation of large components and improving system airflow thanks to the free circulation of air streams.

The motherboard tray features a very large cutout for easy installation and removal of the CPU cooler with a backplate. There are several holes and a whole array of mounts for cable ties for hidden cable management, so there should be no problems with neat cable placement behind the tray.

The power supply mounting spot is not equipped with anti-vibration pads. According to our measurements, the maximum PSU length is 220 mm.

For drive installation, you have a couple of mounting spots for 2.5-inch models on the tray and a cage for two 3.5-inch HDDs next to the power supply.

Let's move on to the assembly process. The case supports ATX, microATX, and Mini-ITX motherboard formats. For testing, we used the GIGABYTE B550 AORUS PRO ATX model.

The length of the graphics cards should not exceed 350 mm, according to our measurements and the manufacturer's official specifications.

The height of the CPU cooler should not exceed 162 mm.

The cables coming from the front panel are long enough to be neatly routed to the motherboard.

The Vinga Legend case comes with one pre-installed fan on the rear panel, which operates as an exhaust. It connects directly to the power supply and constantly runs at a maximum speed of 1700 RPM. The noise level is below average. The room temperature was 22°C.

Under maximum load, created by a combination of MSI Kombustor and FurMark stress tests, the largest difference between an open stand and a case with one fan reached 12°C for the graphics card and 8°C for the processor. But in other scenarios, the difference is noticeably lower.
Overall, one fan is not enough for such a powerful gaming system. We recommend upgrading the case yourself if you plan to build a powerful PC. It has good airflow due to the perforated front panel, and there will be no cooling issues.
When using more energy-efficient components, the heating indicators will be even lower, and there may be no need to install additional fans at all.
Conclusion

Overall, the Vinga Legend case impressed us primarily due to the successful combination of excellent build quality and reasonable cost. Of course, one could nitpick about the simple fan included or the lack of anti-vibration pads under the power supply, but these cannot be considered drawbacks due to the relatively low price. It would be much worse to save on materials and use "foil" instead of steel of normal thickness or sharp untreated edges. And with this, Vinga Legend is in perfect order, as the manufacturer decided to reduce the final cost for the consumer by saving on the configuration, tool-free mounting of drives, and LED backlighting, which is not so critical.
Among other advantages, we highlight the glass side panel, decent airflow due to the perforated front panel, two dust filters, and a strict universal design.
As a result, Vinga Legend will surely appeal to those who want to buy a simple, high-quality, and inexpensive case for building a beautiful system that can be admired through the transparent side panel.
